Easy Bake Oven Cold Competition

Oh my God!!! You’ll never believe what I saw at the toy store the other day. Last week I went to the KB toy stores because I was walking around the mall. When I approached the KB toy stores, I saw a new device through the window. “Hmm, what is this?” I wondered. I walked over to this “thing” and upon closer inspection discovered what it was: an oven.

It is an oven that young children can use to bake products. And it’s Rose. Hmm, doesn’t that sound familiar? Doesn’t this sound like the Easy Bake Oven?

Here’s the difference: This oven, the Disney Princess Cool Bake Magic Oven, uses COLD air to bake food. That’s right, it’s not a typo, it uses COLD air, ice cubes to be exact, to cook the products. So you mix up your baking mix, put it on a tray, put your ice cube in the tray below, and wait for the cold air to cook your cookie. So instead of getting a hot cake, you get a fresh cake. Isn’t this interesting? I wonder what the cake/cookie tastes like. I’m going to try it. How many of you really think that the cold air cookie will taste better than the hot air cookie? I don’t think it tastes good, right?

Do you think Hasbro knows about this copycat invention? Well, I guess it’s not really a knockoff because the technology is different: cold air versus hot air.

The great thing about this Disney Princess Cool Bake Magic Oven is that no one will be able to tell that it burned. But still, can’t a child choke on an ice cube? Can’t a child get burned by ice? Can’t a child accidentally break their finger on the ice tray? It sounds like this toy may be just as dangerous as Hasbro’s Easy Bake Oven that uses heat, right?

At the end of the day, parents are responsible for the toys they buy. Anything can be dangerous, that’s why supervision is needed. Don’t buy a toy for your children if you don’t have time to supervise them. If you want to buy your child an unattended toy, get him one of those big plastic balls and hopefully it won’t have lead paint on it.
