Success in Setting Personal Goal Planning – Focus on Today

Focusing only on today will help you make progress in planning your personal goals and establishing success. Right now, you probably feel lost in all the things you have to deal with every day. You are allowing others to determine your destiny by giving them the power to change your plans at will.

What could you do today to make today a success? The best way to know the answer to that question is to start with a clear plan for the direction you’re headed. Take the time to plan where you want to get to, and then identify the steps you’ll need to take to get there.

Put all your attention on those 1-3 things that would make this day a success. Each night before you go to bed, identify the top 1-3 things that would make the next day a success for you. Prioritize them and then work systematically to accomplish each of the most important things. Be ruthless in not allowing others to interrupt or sidetrack you. Don’t rest until you have that high priority success getting things done.

Only after you’ve made your day a success should you focus on the other things that clutter your life. Once you’ve accomplished your top 1-3 things, then and only then can you move on to the rest of the stuff that clutters your life. Keep a list of these things and prioritize them so you know immediately what to tackle once you’ve done your important stuff. You’ll be amazed at how energized and excited you’ll feel knowing you’ve already accomplished the key things that make that day a success.

Put your personal goal planning in place by setting success at full speed one day at a time. You can’t do anything about yesterday, and you can only plan for tomorrow, but you can act today. Acting on your biggest success today, doing things, will put you on the fast track to success and keep you there.
