ATM etiquette, part one

These days we use ATMs or, as some call them, ATMs on a daily basis to withdraw cash from checking and savings accounts. But because we use them so often, many of us have become too used to wearing them and have therefore lost touch with the sacred art of so-called ATM etiquette. So how does one or anyone behave when using an ATM? This is the first part of a series of guidelines to help you use the ATM with grace, artistry, and self-awareness.

It’s not just about you

Of course, we all know that when we need to access money from our bank, going to the ATM is a purely selfish act. We need money to pay our bills, buy groceries, buy birthday presents, and even pay for transportation, so it’s natural to assume that ATMs were created for our needs and wants, and only for our needs and wants. However, other people have needs and wants, and they will also need to use the ATM. We’re all used to seeing people lining up to use an ATM, so one of the most important things to remember is that when you use an ATM, it’s not too time-consuming. Have your card ready and waiting to be used, and if you must use more than one card, then have that card ready too, because searching your bag for the right card takes a lot of time and tests everyone’s patience. who is waiting behind you in the queue.

Taste a little tenderness

Out of cuteness, of course, decency is more appropriate when applied to ATM behavior. Because everyone has to use the ATM, you should be on the lookout for any changes to the machine, especially if it looks like it’s been tampered with in any way. However, the second most important thing to do is if the machine runs out of money and there is a queue of people waiting behind you to tell you that the machine needs to be reloaded. This is a case of simple courtesy, as there is nothing more annoying than waiting a while to use the ATM, only to discover that the person in front of you kept the last of your cash and didn’t tell you. We all have to use ATMs, so why not be as considerate as possible to other users and let them know if the machine isn’t working, or better yet let the vendor know of any problems with the machine, as they’ll be able to get in touch with the ATM management company and have them come fix it. This way, no one has much experience for a long time, and the ATM will be up and running much faster.

Using the ATM may be an everyday thing for some people, but that doesn’t mean we should get rude and put off when we use them. So be careful of your fellow users, be courteous and respectful the next time you withdraw cash.
