In celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, the Macallan distillery released a special bottle of whisky in 2012. Located in the UK, the limited-edition bottling has an extra-large bottle and a special diamond jubilee box. The whisky has a 52% ABV and a low neck. Overall, the bottle is in excellent condition, with only a small scratch on the interior of the box.

The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray, and is owned by the Edrington Group, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999. In 2012, the distillery released the special Macallan Diamond jubilee expression, made from a special blend of distilled whisky aged in ex-sherry casks, named after the Queen. It is produced only once a year and comes with a spare presentation box. This was done because the original boxes had suffered intrinsic damage.

The diamond jubilee box contains a unique blend of whisky from two different vintages. The first, from 1996, is composed of whisky from two casks distilled on April 29th. The second, from 1999, features a label with detailed silver foil. Both bottles have text on the labels.

The Royal Macallan bottlings are highly collectible and prized by whisky collectors and Royal family fans. The next one is expected in 2017, and the royal bottling is already highly sought after. However, it’s worth noting that the Macallan Royal Platinum Jubilee will be released in 2017.

This Speyside malt was distilled in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Queen and the Diamond Jubilee. It was drawn from two casks and released in the first week of June. It is available in two-litre bottles and is limited to a mere 2,000 bottles.

Macallan Royal bottlings are very rare and valued in the whisky industry. They are popular with collectors and Royal family fans. A new edition for 2017 is expected.
