Maybe Universal Healthcare could help people affected by COVID-19

President Obama did everything he could to ensure health care for all American citizens. Also, he tried to make sure that even people with pre-existing conditions could at least sign up for insurance. In the past, they have often been denied coverage as insurance companies were interested in making big profits without taking a loss. Ensuring that everyone can buy insurance is not the same as providing people with universal healthcare. If it is universal, it is for everyone regardless of age, status or social status. As COVID-19 affects American citizens and others around the world, the time may have come to provide universal healthcare to save fellow human beings.

In a surprising move, President Trump said the government would provide access to the means necessary to test for COVID-19 to all American citizens. Presumably this would include green card holders. According to other reports, those tested without health insurance could eventually owe as much as $6,000 in out-of-pocket costs after having limited government assistance. Intensive care could be quite expensive for those who have been hospitalized.

A sick person and their family have enough to think about and should not be burdened with paying medical bills while protecting the family from contagion. On the other hand, affected people cannot ignore the problem and the possibility of transmitting the Corona virus to family, friends and colleagues. COVID-19 causes many people to face other worse symptoms and can worsen pre-existing conditions. Also, a sick person could lose their job or be unable to make a mortgage payment on time.

US citizens who survive COVID-19 will eventually have to pay significant medical bills, while European citizens will not have to worry about losing their homes and possessions due to medical debt. Citizens of the world living in countries with universal health care can at least know they won’t go broke. In fact, many people will be devastated due to trading and stock market losses, but at the end of the day, people must regain their health in order to get back to work and rebuild their nations.

First of all, tests must be available to everyone. All people must be guaranteed a bed in a safe and hygienic place until they get better, and they need access to various respiratory cures regardless of age, ethnicity or background. The Corona Virus is more than a simple disease that attacks the elderly. It mutates and is potentially lethal to anyone. Furthermore, it is the duty of a nation to treat all people equally when it comes to making a reasonable effort to save them. If you can make a difference for humanity by voting, it is your duty to go out there and do it, tell the truth and bear witness to universal care.
