remote control monster trucks

America loves monster trucks. Heck, everyone loves them. Even The Undertaker has one. In the RC world, monster truck means big 4WD trucks with a lot of ground clearance. They’re the ultimate backyard thumper and they handle off-road like nothing else.

Ground clearance and chunky tires are what give these trucks their great off-road capabilities. Stadium trucks and buggies handle very well on dirt tracks, but try to get them to work on grass. On the other hand, they can basically go anywhere the transmitter tells them to.

These trucks are also very difficult to flip. Because they have such a wide wheelbase and are heavy, they just keep going. A monster truck can fly around a corner at very high speeds and without having to worry about tipping over. They are also ideal for jumps. No other RC vehicle is as likely to land on its tires as a well-built truck.

Even snow won’t stop a good RC truck. Sand, loose gravel, slippery grass, and just about any other type of terrain can be conquered. The 4WD provides good grip on any surface, and the weight helps shed all that torque.

They come in all shapes and sizes, so there’s a good option for everyone. Perhaps more than the other classes of RC vehicles, suspension lengths and overall dimensions vary greatly from model to model. There are many upgrades and adjustments available so that eventually the truck can be built to fit the driver’s needs perfectly.

You can also modify these trucks for racing. The high center of gravity and weight mean they won’t perform as well as stadium trucks, but there are plenty of monster truck races to take part in and they can pick up some serious speed if tuned right.

Racing isn’t the only event you can take a monster truck to. Multiple truck bumps take place every year where experienced drivers can try their hand at smashing cars, clearing obstacles, and sending off massive jumps.

The fun doesn’t stop there, these trucks can also be built for pull events. In these events, competing trucks face off in the ultimate test of torque and power. Some people have tweaked their trucks to pull incredible weights, like full-size cars.

Ironically, these are perhaps the most versatile RC vehicles available. They can run on concrete or dirt, handle basically any terrain, run and jump. They are incredibly fun to play with in the backyard. Aside from drifting, there’s not much a monster truck can’t do. With a little dedication, even a drifting monster truck wouldn’t be completely out of the question.

These days monster trucks are available with both electric and nitro engines. Nitro used to be the only option for trucks, but with the implementation of brushless motors and more powerful batteries, electric models now work just as well as nitro models. Which one to choose is up to you.
