Soda Pop – A fun drink or a silent killer?

Few things in life are held as sacred as pledged allegiance to a favorite soda brand. Pepsi lovers remain loyal to their brand just like lovers of Coca Cola and Mountian Dew or Dr. Pepper. The most popular brand is insignificant compared to the damage caused.

Soda is destroying the body. High amounts of sodium cause unnatural amounts of fluid to stick to the body. This fluid can cause joint problems and high blood pressure or a stroke.

Sodium or salt is used to dry or preserve meats. It accomplishes this by extracting moisture from the cells leaving a dried and shriveled version of a once healthy specimen. In other words, dehydrate. Can you imagine what the kidneys of a person who drinks a 2-liter soda every day are like? Dry and shrunken, withered and spent as dried plums would be a likely description along with dark, foul-smelling urine.

Next, consider your sugar intake from soft drinks. There are 2 cups of sugar and sugary items in each 2-liter drink. This adds many extra pounds to the body weight and can cause diabetes. You are also not without guilt if you drink diet soda. Diet soda contains Aspertame!!! Aspertame has been shown to cause cancer in humans.

Finally consider that the human body is 23 water. When someone only drinks soft drinks and rarely drinks plain water, the body is forced to function in a way that is opposite to normal. The body will compensate by overloading the entire system at the cellular level, causing the immune system to break down. This can leave a person open to a host of diseases or worse, making this a loyalty that must be broken before it ensnares us all.
