Symptoms and causes of vaginal candida

Candida symptoms often do not go away completely or are absent for a limited time. Here are some tips on how you can prevent a recurrence of a yeast infection:

Avoid moisture in your vaginal area: For example, nylon pantyhose doesn’t allow that specific area to breathe, so avoid wearing one pair of nylon pantyhose throughout the day. Spandex or silk panties will prevent the same area from being ventilated, so it is better to use cotton panties. Tight clothing will bring the same problem: lack of aeration in the genital area.

Some “bathroom tips” can also be used to prevent vaginal yeast infection. Clean from back to front: The colon is a reservoir for Candida and some bacteria that can cause vaginal infections. Cleaning yourself the right way will prevent the spread of Candida and bacteria in your genital area.

Use the hair dryer to dry your genital area. If you bathed in a bathing suit, remove your wet suit as soon as possible.

Some products should be avoided if you are undergoing treatment for a yeast infection: colored or scented toilet paper, douching, feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant pads or tampons, bubble baths create an imbalance in the acidity level, which it will lead to overgrowth of Candida.

Before you decide what type of treatment to take, be sure to see a doctor, because some STDs can mimic a fungal infection. It is very important that at least the first time it is diagnosed by a doctor. There are several treatments for vaginal candidiasis: from a single capsule taken by mouth to creams and ovules applied locally. Some of these remedies are given by prescription, others are over the counter. You decide which remedy to use: the one you think is most suitable for you, the one you can use comfortably.

And remember, in some cases (it happens very rarely) you can pass the Candida infection to your sexual partner. For more information on treating yeast infections, see my Candida symptoms site.
