Why not be a Powerseller on eBay?

eBay is, in my opinion, the easiest and fastest way to make money online; In fact, I would go further and claim that it is the best ‘work from home’ business opportunity that has ever existed. There are, of course, other online auctions, but eBay is by far the largest and since opening an account is free, surely everyone, especially beginners, should start by registering with them.

After gaining experience, many believe that the way forward on eBay is to become a Powerseller. At this point, you need to consider what actually getting this status entails.

For the first time ever, by using the ‘Advanced Search’ feature, everyone can access the recent trading activities of any seller. A few clicks and you can have before you your sales record, for the last thirty days, including item number, start and end date, price, a brief description, and buyer ID. Of course, you will also know if the Item sold.

Consider, for a moment, how powerful this is. Can you think of any business, now or in the past, where you could, at zero cost, do this type of market research? Do you think this information would be of benefit to you when you are trying to decide which niche to go into?

Imagine that you know what is selling, for how much and how often. Armed with this knowledge, you can find sources for your chosen item, knowing, in advance, what you need to buy it for to make a decent profit.

It is this transparency, this openness, the strength and appeal of online auctions and, in particular, eBay.

Of course what you can do they can do to you! When you reach Powerseller status (minimum 98% feedback + around 100 sales per month), you get the Powerseller icon next to your ID and a number of additional benefits. In effect, you’re telling the world, “Hey look at me, I’m successful, I sell a lot of items because I’ve discovered what’s selling in this niche, please come and look at me!”

Remember, the bigger they come…etc.

There is a strong argument for not putting all your eggs in the Powerseller basket but instead opting for the multiple ID option. All you need to register an ID number is a new email address for each one.

This way you can continue to be successful in your niche and at the same time ‘keep your head down’. Don’t worry too much about the numbers, all the evidence suggests that feedback percent is more important, for buyers, than the number of transactions. In other words, if you have at least a 98% response rate and twenty or more recorded transactions, then you don’t have to worry.

High profit is better than high profile!

Happy auction.
