Why should I convert my Nextel Blackberry to Boost Mobile?

Why should I convert my Nextel Blackberry to Boost Mobile?

Boost Mobile has the cheapest (and slowest) data service out there, and the Nextel-branded BlackBerry is the only smartphone that works with Boost’s iDEN service.

The old BlackBerry 7520 and 7100i can be had for around $50 and are very useful smartphones.

The new BlackBerry 8350i is one of the best blackberry smartphones available. However, on Nextel it costs more than $120 a month for everything unlimited and on Boost mobile you can get unlimited service for $50 a month.

However, the difference is that Boost Mobile does not offer a Blackberry data plan and Nextel does. So if you want to browse the web, send emails and be able to download apps, you need to convert your Nextel Blackberry to Boost Mobile.

Email works a little differently in that you can set up your yahoo or aol mail to forward to your Blackberry using the email address

[email protected] as the forwarding email address.

What are the differences of the Nextel Blackberry models?

Aside from the obvious difference in phone design and available applications and memory, the 8350i runs version 4.6 of the BlackBerry OS, while the 7520 and 7100i run version 4.1. Older OS does not support so many apps and features.

Long story short, Boost Mobile Phones are no good and Blackberrys are. It really is that simple.

Is Boost compatible with BlackBerry?

Not officially. Boost sells its starter kit for “breathing new life into a previously used Boost or Nextel phone,” but they don’t specifically mention its BlackBerry compatibility. Using a BlackBerry on Boost is consistent with its terms and conditions, but you will not get any assistance from Boost in setting up your BlackBerry.

What functions work?

The voice service and the basic data service work.

Third-party apps work, including apps for web browsing, email, GPS, and instant messaging.

Wireless installation of applications with the BlackBerry Browser will work if you follow the instructions.

Text messages will work if you follow the instructions.

Applications can also be installed using the Desktop Manager software on your PC.

Which Boost plans included data service?

All Boost plans include basic data service.

These are the reasons to convert your nextel blackberry to boost mobile service.
