Accountability keeps you focused

One thing I’ve learned about having an Accountable Partner (AP) is that it keeps you focused and on track. As women entrepreneurs (not all) sometimes we find ourselves everywhere. As we try to generate income, we are also testing the next “shiny thing” which we believe is the next BIG new idea that will generate a lot of income.

When you set a goal with your AP, you won’t stray as far as when you rely on yourself alone to make decisions and choices to generate income from your love. You’ll stay on track because you’ll have to answer to someone else why you’re making the changes you’re making and if it’s worth doing.

I, like you, have found myself guilty of doing that, especially when I haven’t had someone to respond to or give updates on my status. I have learned that I am all over the place, my mind is full of so many ideas and when I try to put them in some order symbolism. I’ve been inclined to try something new I’ve seen or heard of and/or find myself doing nothing at all because I’m a bit lost as to which direction to go.

I find it amazing that when I brainstorm and talk to my AP, I can see clearly, come to crucial decisions, be able to put those ideas into action faster than if I were trying to figure things out myself, and help bring me to my center. I can help others with their visions and ideas, but sometimes I find myself unable to help myself. This doesn’t mean I’m scattered or incapable of making positive decisions, it just means I’m too close to what I want to do that I can’t think beyond what I’ve set in motion. I want to quit what I was doing because I wasn’t going as fast as I thought I should be going, or because I wasn’t generating the income fast enough. So I want to go ahead and not complete what I’m doing.

Here are three things I suggest you do if you find yourself in this position or feel this way:

1. Start looking for a quality and reliable AP

2. Commit to being open and honest with your AP

3. Be determined and constant that you will do what you propose
