Amazing Cooler Recipes That Are Perfect for Outdoor Parties

Drinks are just as important as food when it comes to parties. Your guests will be looking for something refreshing and delicious even after they finish eating. But when planning what kind of drink to serve, keep in mind that you have to cater for all kinds of guests, including children.

Here are 3 amazing non-alcoholic cooler recipes that are great for parties both indoors and outdoors:

Basil and melon granita

What do you need:

  • 1 medium melon, skinned, seeded, and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 large sprigs of fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • soda water

Combine the water, granulated sugar, and salt in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat. Simmer over low heat (without stirring) for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat then stir in basil sprigs before letting cool completely. When ready, pour the mixture into a blender. Add the melon and blend until smooth. Strain into a square pan, cover, and refrigerate until frozen, about 6 to 8 hours. When ready, scrape large flakes out of the frozen mixture with a fork. Spoon flakes into glasses, sprinkle with soda water, and serve.

Mint and pineapple surprise

What do you need:

  • 4 fresh pineapple 2-inch slices
  • 4 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup cold sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup chilled grape juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of agaves
  • Lime slices to decorate
  • ice cubes

Put the pineapple in a bowl. With the back of a wooden spatula, mash the fruit until it breaks into smaller pieces, working for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the mint leaves to the bowl then continue mixing until the leaves are bruised. Divide mixture among serving glasses. Put in some ice cubes and then pour in the grape and lime juices, sparkling water and agave. Toss gently and serve with lime wedges.

What do you need:

  • 3 cups of club soda
  • 2 cups of ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Bring the blueberries, water, sugar, and lemon zest to a boil in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, strain and cool completely. When ready, pour the mixture into a pitcher followed by lemon juice, ice cubes and sparkling mineral water. Stir and serve immediately.
