Bloons the Original – Interesting Levels – 8, 13, 23 and 30

Level 8 (Holy Moley)

14 balloons are required to complete the level. Another novelty, here we have a “wall” with three brown bricks. Your first dart should get one of those; simply hitting one with the dart will destroy it. Now all you have to do is shoot the other dart through the hole in the wall and it should hit one pin and blow up all the others. A fairly easy level to complete completely.

Level 13 (depot)

25 balloons are required to complete the level. This level will test your skills to correctly judge both power and angle to make accurate bows. Ideally, with the first dart, have it go through the hole furthest from the wall to hit the pins. If that’s proving too difficult, you can have it go in through the second hole from the right, which is wider, and get a lot of the bloons out through that. The two hardest shots are the first, to hit the pins, and the one required to go through the first hole to clear the vertical group closest to the monkey. A score in the 90% range is common at this level.

Level 23 (Ouchie)

35 balloons are required to complete the level. Possibly the most difficult level we have encountered so far. We also found, for the first time, “bloons of mine”, along with the old favorites, ice bloons. You will see a row of bloons of mine at the top and a row of ice bloons in the third row down. The bow you get is the most important thing. It is practically impossible to fire the dart and lose all the mines and all the ice bloons. However, if you get the perfect bow, you can get away with blowing up some mines and / or ice, but you need to have enough force to hit the peg ones. It has a rubber wall on the right and a solid wall on the left. By aiming correctly, you can send the dart through the top pair of layers, deflecting it from the rubber wall directly into the pins. A score of 70% or so is normal for this level.

Level 30 (Ice Bounce)

28 balloons are required to complete the level. After the brief respite from an easy level we return to a more complex one. There are two ways to accomplish this. On the first shot, try to hit the top ice bloon, also getting as many as possible from the ones below that one. Make sure there’s at least one of the frozen bloons to use to bounce off the next shot, or just go ahead and reset the level. Bounce off the frozen bloon and enter the bomb pack that will explode all of those. The alternative method that is sometimes preferred is to shoot as hard as possible on the left side of the lower rubber wall and the vibration will fire the bombs and destroy all the ones to the left of the rubber wall. In the next shot, you can remove as many remaining bloons as possible by avoiding the ice ones. Aim for a score of around 90% and you will complete the level.
