Culprit Causes of Obesity

The causes of obesity put forward by health experts are a myriad of factors for the concerned consumer to consider, and more and more studies are being done to further complicate the condition. However, developing awareness of the correlated causes of obesity may encourage people to be more attentive to their personal well-being.

These are some of the main causes of obesity:

* Eating too much fat gives excess energy stored in the body.

* too much sugar, starch or other carbohydrates that are also important sources of energy convertible to fat

* too many pre-processed (no-cook or easy-cook) products that often have more fat or sugar, for preservation (sweet drinks, soft drinks, cakes, ice cream, fast food, and tetra/foil packaged snacks)

* eating too much food altogether, including proteins that could also turn into fat if consumed in excess

* Irregular eating habits, such as eating a lot at one time, a little at another time, prolonged intervals between meals, consuming foods with high doses of sugar at some times and no sugar at other times, resulting in an uncontrollable appetite physiology that makes it to deposit. more fat in your body

* consuming too many high-calorie alcoholic beverages

* lack of vitamins and minerals, and a generally unhealthy diet that reduces the body’s ability to burn extra amounts of fat and sugar

* inactive ‘sitting’ lifestyle in which the body burns little fat and sugar, and

* boredom in daily routine life resulting in overeating as a way of entertainment

Some specialized health studies also reveal unforeseen causes of obesity or excess body weight:

* hypothyroidism which decreases the metabolism of food, loss of appetite and modest weight gain in which protein deposits in the body cause fat accumulation and fluid retention

* Deficiency of essential fatty acids or good fats (linseed oil) which the body needs to maintain the body’s metabolic rate and also causes cravings for fatty foods

* food sensitivities that occur many hours later as bloating and bloating caused by fermentation of food, particularly carbohydrates, in the intestines, inflammation, and release of certain hormones that increase fluid retention and weight gain

* Cushing’s syndrome which produces an excess of the hormone cortisol and results in a rounded “moon face” and a “buffalo hump”.

* use of certain prescription medications such as steroids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antidepressants, diabetes medications, hormone replacement therapy, and estrogen-containing oral contraceptives that cause fluid retention and increased appetite

* previous kidney, heart or liver disease causing fluid retention and weight gain

* enlargement of organs, such as from an ovarian cyst, and obstruction of lymphatic fluid

* Blood sugar imbalance due to rapid fluctuations in blood sugar levels, then the need for insulin to store the sugar and bring the sugar down, ultimately leading to cravings for more sweets, and

* emotional eating (BED/ binge-eating-disorder) to respond to stress or depression that affects eating habits and causes weight gain

These are other causes of obesity that are not easy to control. Therefore, it is up to us to manage our activities and consumption in a controlled way so as not to store more than we can burn.
