Finding the perfect Valentine’s gift for the man in your life

Valentine’s Day is all about flowers, chocolates, and a fancy dinner, right? NOT if you are buying a gift for your man.

A man wouldn’t even know what to do with flowers. Chocolates are great, but give them in a frilly heart-shaped box? And dress up for a fancy t-shirt restaurant, forget it!

Remember, and forgive the simplification, but men care about the result! To find a great gift for your man, remember this:

  • Men and women do not think the same!

The truth is, men are wired differently than women. Not better, not worse, just differently. So if you are a woman who is trying to find the right gift for your sweetheart, as unpleasant as it may seem, you must think like a man.

Men really aren’t that complicated. In fact, it is much easier for a woman to buy a gift for her man than for that man to buy a gift for his wife.

Why do you ask, because men and women do not think the same. This is why men need so much help finding the right gift. Don’t you think that’s true? So why are most of the advertisements on Valentine’s Day aimed at men? They only need help because men are more gullible and have no idea how to give gifts. And unfortunate is the woman whose man sees an advertisement for a vacuum cleaner just before he does his Christmas shopping. Guess what it will get?

Women are better gift givers. A woman who gives a gift to another woman will almost always find the right thing to do. But again, men are different.

So you say, what would a man want for a vacation that is already confusing enough for him?

To begin with, I always thought that there should be one day just for men and one day only for women. Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year. So, make it all about him on the eve of this holiday and surprise him on Friday.

Doing this actually has a couple of benefits. First, it allows you to celebrate your love with that special man and focus only on him. Second, it’s a reminder of what’s to come the next day so your forgetful lover can prepare for their special day.

Okay, let’s start with the obvious. All young men, almost all middle-aged men, and even most older men think about sex. Much! So how does that help you ask?

If there are children, take them out of the house at night so that the two of you can be alone. Slip a sexy nightgown, panties, or silk stockings into her briefcase or lunch box. Attach a note saying that you will be waiting in the rest of the outfit when you get home.

Take it out to eat later at a barbecue rib joint or for a pizza and a mug of beer. Just do it anywhere you enjoy. Take it to a boys movie, skip the girl movie.

If you like cars, leave some shiny new tools wrapped in red ribbon on your pillow for you to find when you go to bed that night.

If you like to fish, get yourself some fancy new lures and hang them in a heart on your pillow. If you like music, get a prepaid card to download music and a new MP3 player to go with it.

You should get the idea now. Find gifts that satisfy your passions and you’ll create a Valentine’s Day keepsake that both of you will enjoy.
