If you want to vacation in the Caribbean islands, the hardest part of planning your vacation is choosing the island you want to visit or deciding how many islands you can visit during your vacation. There are more than 7,000 islands in the Caribbean Sea and most of them can be a great vacation destination. While some of them such as the Bahamas, Aruba, Barbados or the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic are well-known tourist destinations, there are several lesser-known islands such as Curaçao, the island of Saba, Saint Christopher and Island of Nevis or Island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where you can spend an unforgettable vacation. A great way to visit multiple islands is to take a Caribbean cruise. There are several companies that offer cruises with stopovers on different islands and activities for all types of tourists.

While many of the islands where the tourism industry is more developed have all-inclusive resorts where prices can be quite high, especially in season, you can still enjoy a Caribbean island vacation on a budget. One of the new tourism trends that is growing rapidly around the world is ecotourism and agrotourism. This means that you can stay in privately owned houses that are run by locals and are cheaper than hotels. Food can be relatively inexpensive and while there are many fast food restaurants, it is always recommended to try Caribbean cuisine and eat where the locals eat. The sheer number of things to do and see available on the islands makes the decision of where to spend your Caribbean vacation even more difficult. A number of water sports and outdoor activities are available on most islands. Plus, if you’re just interested in laying in the sun and swimming in the ocean, almost any island can do it.
