You see, without her bag, her weapons, and the beloved Chloe, Jack wouldn’t have gotten very far on a mission … would he? If Jack didn’t have any of those things, would he get out of some of the most impossible situations? If you’re a fan of the show, then your answer is more than likely … HECK YES!

Throughout 24 seasons, you’ll see Jack get out of crazy situations that anyone else certainly would have been out of luck. And the reason why he got out of crazy situations and ended up fulfilling missions successfully is because of a constant philosophy that he followed … and this philosophy is the one that I recommend you follow if you want to lose weight and get in shape …

That philosophy is to do whatever it takes to accomplish the tasks at hand. And when I say “whatever,” I mean whatever is necessary to accomplish the tasks at hand.

Certainly this is not difficult with diet and exercise compared to Jack surviving a Chinese prison camp, or avoiding the certain death of a Mexican drug cartel, or threatening a former president, and more!

Many people approach diet and exercise with the mindset that if their established plan cannot be followed for some reason, then they have to give up or get another plan. If you want success, you CANNOT think that way! You have to think in the same vein that if your plan is not working, then you need to improvise, adapt and overcome quickly … and FIND A WAY to get the tasks at hand done.

What are the tasks at hand?

Well, that depends. It depends on what your plan is and what your goals are. The tasks will be different between everyone.

For you, your goals may be to lose 20 pounds, burn 15% body fat, and build some lean muscle tissue. Tasks would be something like following a diet to speed up your metabolism, doing high-intensity interval cardio, low-intensity cardio first thing in the morning, and of course, muscle-building workouts. For someone else, your goals may be different … and therefore your tasks will be different.

Now, if situations arise that make it difficult for you to perform your daily tasks to improve your body, then you must have the mindset that you are going to do SOMETHING … ANYTHING … ANYTHING, to achieve the success of the day. ! Don’t feel like you can’t get a full workout or eat a full healthy meal etc, that you just failed. Find a way to STILL make healthy choices … regardless.

Taking this approach will do 2 things. First, you will have a huge boost to your willpower. And secondly, you will quickly reach your goals!

Bottom line, whatever you are trying to accomplish with your body, understand that if you are having a hard time sticking to your skillet, that doesn’t mean you need to quit smoking or find a different plan all together. It means you need to analyze, adjust, and do whatever it takes to achieve your personal daily goals. In the end, Jack Bauer had a poetic departure from his career as a CTU agent, and it wasn’t because he followed all the rules, it was because he did whatever it took to get the job done!
