Lose weight on a raw vegan diet and start living again!

Do you have excess weight to lose? Have you tried every diet out there, only to give up and feel down and agitated? You really should consider adopting a better diet than the ones you have tried before. Why? Because they clearly don’t leave you feeling good about yourself or your body. Have you ever considered adopting the vegan raw food lifestyle? The health benefits that come from this diet are endless and the weight is easily lost. This is what I call the Mother of all Diets. This is why.

calories are low

When you start eating most of your calories in fruits, raw vegetables, sprouts, juices, and nuts, you will see an obvious loss in your body weight, and this will continue to drop if you continue on the raw food diet. What will give your weight loss an even bigger boost is if you only eat fresh fruits or fruit juices in the mornings. The reason is that fruits are low in fat and are perfect for detoxification, so the weight will start to come off quite quickly. Be sure to eat a variety of fresh fruits to keep your diet interesting; this will help you stay on the raw food diet and help prevent cravings for bad foods. Why not try making a banana berry smoothie for your breakfast? All you need is some fresh raw almond milk, a few berries in season (frozen is fine), a ripe banana or two, and some vanilla extract or agave nectar to taste. You can even add a pinch of sea salt to bring out the flavors.

Gives you abundant energy

For lunch you should make yourself a really big raw salad and also have a big glass of freshly made vegetable juice (made that morning or the night before). This will take your energy to a whole new level and you will find yourself feeling absolutely great all afternoon! People will also start commenting on your happy demeanor and sudden zest for life! Always happens!

Now back to the big lunch salad: Put in as many of your favorite vegetables (and fruits) as you like. I like to top it with romaine lettuce, fresh juicy tomatoes, onion, avocado, cucumber, walnuts, mung beans, and corn. And then for the dressing a little extra virgin olive oil and also a little freshly squeezed lemon, sea salt and pepper. Give it a try! This is very energizing and sustaining.

Just a word of warning, though: If you’re adopting this raw vegan diet for weight loss, you should limit your avocado and nut intake. The reason is that these two foods are quite high in fat (good fats) and calories, so limiting them is a must if you want to lose weight. I’m not saying to cut them out completely, just limit your intake to eating no more than half an avocado and a medium handful of nuts per day. You can increase this amount if you are maintaining your weight, of course.
