Stay away from foods that cause gout

Gout is a form of arthritis that causes inflammation, pain, pain, and swelling of the joints, also reducing their mobility. It mainly affects the joints of the lower extremities of the body, such as the toes, heels, ankles, and knees, but it can also affect the joints of the upper body. Gout sometimes affects the skin and soft tissues, such as muscles and tendons, causing swelling and stiffness. Today, many people are still faced with taste as a result of an inadequate diet, without realizing the damage that some foods cause to the body. Apart from the foods that cause gout, another important factor in the development of the disease is obesity.

Gout is mainly caused by the crystallization of a substance called uric acid in the bloodstream, which causes the arteries to become blocked. In normal amounts, uric acid is neutral to the body. However, when in excess, it can cause a lot of damage. Uric acid is a waste product formed in purine synthesis. Purine is a substance that resides in fatty meats, fish, some dairy products, and vegetables. Foods that cause gout are high in saturated fat and purines, thus contributing to excessive secretion of uric acid. Among the foods that cause flavor, it is considered that the most dangerous are red meat and some fish. Beef, pork, lamb, and shellfish should be avoided when suffering from flavor. In addition, healthy people should control the intake of such foods to prevent the onset of gout. Other foods such as chicken meat, low dairy, cereals, vegetables and fruits are well tolerated by people with gout.

To improve gout symptoms, gout-causing foods should be excluded from the diet in favor of healthy foods. Likewise, alcohol consumption should be reduced, since it increases the amount of uric acid produced by the body. Smoking can also aggravate gout symptoms by slowing down the natural healing process and interfering with proper blood circulation.

Drinking a lot of water will help the body to eliminate excess uric acid. It is strongly recommended to drink at least 2 liters of water a day. Also, try to reduce the amount of saturated fat in your diet and eat more carbohydrate-rich foods, such as cereals, pasta, and bread. Eat plenty of fruits, as they contain many important vitamins and minerals. Fruits like apples, oranges, nectarines, and lemons should be part of your daily menu.
