Back in the day, KC and the Sunshine Band were at the top of the US Billboard 100 and R&B charts in the mid-’70s, 1975 to be exact with hits like: “Get Down Tonight,” “I’m Your Boogie Man” and the smash hit “That’s The Way I Like It,” well, there’s a remake of the pop favorite “That’s The Way I Like It.”

Varges Thomas has revisited and shows off the prowess of his funk masters on this pop and R&B song. From synth keyboard sounds to funky guitar beats along with percussion beats; this new beat will get you up and moving on the dance floor. Taking an old classic hit and making it your own is what creative artists do. Making pop and funk work at the same time is masterful. For those of us who have ears to hear and who can keep up with a dance, we can sing along to this funky improvisation.

Classic songs are time tested. Gladys Knight and the Pips’s 1967 song “I Listening It Through the Grapevine” to Marvin Gaye’s 1968 version; both artists enjoyed success with hit records for the same song with different melodies and arrangements. Gladys peaked at #1 and #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and R&B charts. Marvin got the same results a year later in 1968. Then in 1981 Roger Troutman himself from Hamilton, Ohio came along and did his rendition of the same titled song showing off his artistic talents with his talk-box and the song reached No. number 1 on Billboard R&B. cards

It is factual; artist who knows how to arrange, produce and be creative with his own originality with music from the past; he or she could easily end up with a hit record. Only time will tell if Varges’ version of KC and the Sunshine Band’s “That’s the Way I Like It” will be a hit.

This will show your fans and music lovers around the world that you have the versatility and creativity to own the project; which will be a new sound for your listening pleasure.
