Willy Wiener and the Tunnel of Doom Review

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play a hot dog who has to rescue a donut in distress from the clutches of hell? Well, then you’re in luck, because that’s exactly what MobiDojo’s “Willy Wiener and the Tunnel of Doom” is all about!

Willy Wiener is a heroic hot dog who is risking his buns (har har) to save Dottie the Donut from the evil Mr. Mephisto Maplebar. Your role in this is to guide Willy through eight exciting levels plus a boss level. Each level consists of two rounds. The first has Willy falling down the Tunnel of Doom. Using the tilt controls, you have to prevent him from hitting fireballs or little demons with pitchforks. You also have to collect coins and gems as you fall. To get three stars in a level, you will need to collect a specific number of coins, last a certain amount of time, and collect a gem.

If you survive the first round of Hell, you’ll get to round 2, where you’ll need to launch Willy over and through weird obstacles to land in Dottie’s donut hole. Yes, you heard that right. But don’t worry, it’s still a safe game for kids. It’s just some lively food, right?

To throw Willy, you use him like a slingshot. When you touch it, a ring will appear around it. You can control the speed and force with which it flies by making the ring bigger or smaller. Some levels will require you to go slow and steady, while others will require you to go faster and further. It may take a few tries to get it right.

The second round of each level can be challenging and take some time to succeed. But that’s good, because it’s a pretty short game. If you reach the ninth level, you will face the boss battle, where you will use the gems that you collected throughout the game.

Willy Wiener has great scenes and music that makes it feel like an old silent movie. In each, Willy and Dottie profess their love for each other when Mr. Maplebar steps in and literally roasts Willy. These cutscenes are a great touch that really make the game stand out.

If you don’t like ridiculous games, you should probably avoid this one. But everyone else, enjoy the madness that is Willy Wiener and the Tunnel of Doom! It’s short, but there’s a lot of quirky fun here.
