Be a Rich Writer: Why Quality Equals Profit

You don’t create wealth overnight, despite what “get rich quick” scammers say. Most of us have had the experience, at least once in our lives, of being attracted to someone or something that was “too good to be true.” I know I have, and I have learned from my mistakes. While some do, it’s easy to be turned off by heavy-handed sales pages that over-promote shoddy stuff.

I remember a writing coach telling me that his 40-page book would teach me how to turn my email list into gold. I know, I know, I shouldn’t have fooled myself. When I got your Ebook, it was indeed 40 pages long; 40 double spaced type pages in 14 point font with extremely large margins. That was the first and last time I bought your products. I am very careful now who I trust, and dispose of my money less quickly than in the past.

1. Low-quality products undermine trust

Those of us who really want to help people while supporting ourselves and our families need not worry about scammers. Eventually, their false claims will undermine their credibility and no one will buy from them. But as our readers, customers, and clients gain significant insight and support from our writing and information products, their confidence in us will grow. As your confidence in our materials grows, so will our revenue.

2. Our clients will respect us if we respect them

I’m sure you’ve read sales pages that give you the feeling that the writer thinks you’re a fool. I certainly have. The promises are outrageous and exaggerated, the language extreme and exaggerated. These promotions, and the poor quality of the product, are very disrespectful to their readers and buyers.

People come to you because they have serious problems to solve. They are struggling with issues that are disrupting or diminishing the quality of their lives. Your job is to provide them with real solutions to their very real problems. When you deliver quality, you honor your customers and treat them with the respect they deserve. They will pick up on this and come to trust you more as time goes on.

3. High-quality products translate to high levels of profit

You and your customers benefit from the high quality of your materials. Provide real value and your products will be valued. Take shortcuts and create products that promise a new solution but are nothing more than a repetition of old ideas, and you will suffer just as much as your customers.

Everyone wins when you spend time and energy creating high-quality books, training programs, advisory services, and other informational materials. Don’t let your customers down, and they won’t let you down.
