Get 6 Pack Abs By Eliminating 6 Bad Eating Habits

Willpower is one of the KEY components of anything in life, but specifically when it comes to exercise, diet, nutrition, and more. I am willing that you have more willpower to get out of debt than to eat healthy and exercise. Sure, getting out of debt is BIG business, but so is increasing your life expectancy.

Both guys and girls often fall into particular bad eating habits, which when aggravated every day, week, month and year keep the pounds off and the abs never showing. Doesn’t it drive you CRAZY to walk through the magazine section at a supermarket or store and see men and women showing off their lean, ripped physiques? I know it does it for me. But like everything in life, you have to start taking baby steps to see progress. She starts small…and as she progresses, she’ll start making better decisions, and before she knows it…she’ll have the results she wants.

Below are a number of bad eating habits that as people we tend to do and need to get away from as quickly as possible. I’m sure if you’re reading this article they apply to you:

6 Bad Eating Habits You Must Eliminate for 6 Pack Abs

1. Eat fast

In short, the faster you eat, the less time your body and mind have to determine “how much” you’ve eaten. So, by the time you’ve gone from Course #1 to Course #2, assuming you’re eating very fast, your body/brain won’t have caught up to say “wow, wait a minute… relax here.” Before you know it… you will have eaten 2000 calories and not feel “full”. We have all been there. Eat slower, savor your food. If you can’t taste it, eat smaller portions.

2. Drink alcohol

No, I’m not saying cut out alcohol completely (although I personally think that would be a fantastic move), but how many times do you plan to “have a beer” or “a glass of wine” and before you know it? -4 beers are gone, or half the bottle of Chardonnay is missing. Guess what… you’ve consumed a TON of calories. Write down every time you have a drink. So you have 2 drinks a night, big deal right? Well multiply that every day of the week and you could have over 2000 calories in your system. You have to burn 3,500 calories to lose 1 pound of weight.

3. Skipping meals or snacks

It’s natural to think that by not eating, you’ll lose weight, but that’s a horrible myth that people follow. When you skip meals, your body begins to try to control your appetite. It also triggers your “hunger” to kick in, which, as we all know, causes your willpower to falter. Also, you have to eat to lose weight. Yes, I said it, but you have to eat smart. The right combination of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Spread out smaller snacks/meals throughout the day, every 2-3 hours. Keep the portions small, but you’ll curb your hunger and fuel your body in the process.

4. Eat salty snacks

First, if you’re eating something that you KNOW is salty, it’s probably not healthy at all. Sodium is one of those things that bites you in the, you know what, because it builds up so slowly. You eat this or that throughout the day without thinking about the sodium content, and before you know it, you’ve gone well beyond the recommended amount. Add things like popcorn at the movies, or that quick bag of chips heading out the door, and your waist line will only swell. Salt also forces your body to retain water, so if you want to show off your ripped abs, eating a lot of salt will kill that idea.

5. Pigging on weekends

People often use their weekends as “down time,” and that’s understandable since a hectic work week drains you mentally and physically. The downside is that people relax “too much” and let themselves eat and eat. This is very true for when you’re going to a neighborhood barbecue, birthday party, or just hanging out. How many times do you go to a party and “pastas”. You move around the eating area just picking at the food, but over time all those calories add up and before you know it… BOOM you’re full. Eat something healthy before you go to a party, and it will help you keep that bad food at bay.

6. Eating in front of the TV – Sleeping

Everyone is guilty of this. You’re trying to wind down after a hard day at the office, your favorite show is on, or you just put on your favorite blue ray disc and you have that bag of chips on your lap. Before you know it, half the bag is gone, the 2 beers you drank are empty, and you’re falling asleep. Your body needs at least 2 hours to be awake after eating your last meal. Your body naturally burns calories, even when you’re sitting there. Being awake, your body is burning calories to maintain your organs, walking, breathing, etc. So eat your last meal around 7-8 pm in the evening, and at 10 pm you can start going to bed. If you fall asleep after eating, all the calories you just consumed won’t burn off as fast.

Do your best to eliminate those 6 bad eating habits, and I can 100% promise you that the 6 pack abs will come with a healthy diet and exercise plan included.
