This is how I made $ 1,000 in one day
I’m sure most of you reading this haven’t made close to a thousand dollars in a day, not even a week. That does not mean that it is impossible; many in the entertainment industry earn so much and more in one day. However, they did not reach that level of income overnight. They literally spent many years and many thousands of dollars training and perfecting their craft.
I can honestly say that I have made $ 1,000 in just one day. I have done it many times and I am going to tell you exactly how I did it. (And it didn’t take me years to perfect my craft, either.)
First of all, I am a professional flea market vendor. Making the next sale is always on my mind when I’m at work (Can I even call it ‘work’? It’s more like having fun and it’s only two days a week!)
That doesn’t mean you can’t be friendly to buyers and other vendors. Actually, that’s a requirement in my business because everyone is a potential customer. People love spending time with people who are happy and have a good time, it spreads, so if I am happy, they will be happy and happy people feel good about themselves and people who feel good about themselves. they spend more money.
Do you see how one thing leads to another? Attitude is like a prick – you won’t get very far until you change it. Make sure yours is ready to go.
Being a flea market vendor, I won’t make money if I don’t have something to sell. The old adage is true in my business, “the more you have, the more you will sell.” If you wanted to make $ 50 a day, you could do it with just a couple hundred dollars worth of merchandise. But to make a thousand dollars in a day, I need several thousand dollars in merchandise.
It is not difficult to build your inventory. It only takes a little time if you don’t have several of the greats to invest in upfront. Buy what you can afford. You will sell it for more than its cost and get your original investment back, plus profit. Invest all the money in buying more and more merchandise each week; Over time, your inventory will grow rapidly, and before you know it, you’ll have a couple thousand dollars worth of merchandise to sell.
Even when I have the inventory, several things must be put together for this to happen, to make a thousand dollars in one day.
It will be very difficult to make a thousand dollars in a day if you are in a flea market that only attracts a couple of hundred shoppers a day. It doesn’t matter if you have $ 5,000 worth of merchandise available, you still need people to buy it.
You need to sell in very large flea markets, markets that attract thousands of eager shoppers every day.
There are flea markets in the US that cover more than 100 acres and attract more than 30,000 shoppers in just one day.
A large flea market with a large crowd of eager shoppers is a must if you want to make $ 1,000 in one day.
I have sold new items and little used items and I can tell you with certainty that you will always make more money selling new items. Not only will you sell more each day, but you will also make a bigger profit.
To get the most benefit, buy your merchandise at the lowest possible price. I don’t buy it at Wal Mart. I order my merchandise from real wholesale companies and buy in bulk to get the lowest prices. You may need to buy 500 pieces of a certain item to get the lowest price and I may not sell all of them in a week, but I know I will sell all of them eventually and make a big profit doing it. Buying by the box is the way to get the lowest price.
Sell what people want to buy. That is the best advice I can offer.
Don’t sell heaters in August, people are already hot. They don’t want to be hot, they want to be cool. When it’s hot and sunny, sell big hats, sell sunglasses.
If you know there will be a rock concert in a couple of weeks, sell binoculars so people can get up close to their favorite stars.
Sell what people want to buy. It’s just common sense, but you might be surprised to know that some people lack common sense.
Try to have something for everyone. If you only sell new wallets, you will have eliminated men and boys. If you only sell men’s work boots, you have eliminated women and children. If you only sell toys, you have eliminated men and women, the very people who have the money. Not everyone has children. Make sure you can sell to everyone who passes by, not just a certain part of the crowd.
I’m sure you know where your local Walmart is. It’s right there, on the street so-and-so. It is there every day of the week. You can count on that.
Well, as a flea market vendor, you want your buyers to also count on you being in the same place, so they can find you. Don’t start ‘jumping through space’ all over the flea market overnight. Get in a good space or two and stay there. Book in advance.
Don’t get stuck in a corner where few shoppers will walk past noon or one o’clock. Find out where shoppers are hanging out, where there is always a large crowd, even late into the afternoon. Get yourself a space in or very close to that flea market area. You don’t make sales if you don’t have buyers, so set where the buyers are. Go to them, they won’t always come to you.
Some will disagree with me on this, but I’ll say it anyway.
To earn $ 1000 in one day, you can make fifteen sales at $ 100 per sale (the additional $ 500 is the cost of your merchandise) or …
… you can make a hundred sales of $ 15 to earn $ 1,000 in one day.
What do you think is easier to do?
In my own experience, it is much easier to make sales for $ 15. Gold sales 200 $ 7.50. Gold $ 300 5 sales. (That’s easy enough to do at a flea market that draws 30,000 shoppers a day.)
The vast majority of shoppers won’t spend $ 100 on an item, but they will spend $ 20- $ 40 total on a bunch of small items if the price is just a few dollars per item …
A lot of my new items, mind you, are priced under $ 3 each. They are all in the same niche and most people buy four, five, six, seven, ten, twelve, fifteen or more different items at the same time. Most people spend between $ 20 and $ 30 and don’t blink.
But $ 100 for an item, even if it’s a new chainsaw or electric generator? “Well, I have to think about that.”
And there you have it, how I make $ 1,000 in just one day. (Only six to seven hours too. Not even an eight hour day).
Set up in a large, busy flea market, bring something for everyone, and don’t go crazy with their prices.
